Harriman Woman Indicted on Multiple Charges of Statutory Rape and Sexual Exploitation by Electronic Means

Harriman, TN – Anna May Nantz, 29, of Harriman, has been indicted by the Roane County Grand Jury on three counts of statutory rape and nine counts of sexual exploitation by electronic means. Nantz was arrested on Saturday and subsequently released on a $20,000 bond.

According to the indictment, Nantz allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old minor on at least three occasions between June 1, 2024, and June 30, 2024. The charges specify that Nantz, being at least ten years older than the victim, violated Tennessee Code Annotated § 39-13-506, which addresses statutory rape.

In addition to the statutory rape charges, Nantz faces nine counts of sexual exploitation by electronic means. The indictment details that between June 1, 2024, and June 30, 2024, Nantz unlawfully used electronic communication, including email and internet services, to engage in simulated sexual activity that was patently offensive. The purpose of these actions was to have the minor view the simulated sexual activity, either in person or via electronic communication, in violation of Tennessee Code Annotated § 39-13-529.

The case highlights the increasing role of technology in criminal activities and the severe legal consequences that can result from such actions.

We will have more on this case when it is available. We remind everyone that suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
