Elsie “Granny” Irene Hawn Hill, 86 of Harriman, passed away Monday December 28. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. The funeral service will follow with Bro. Robert Laymance officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 AM in the Dyllis Cemetery on Friday for the graveside service. Davis Funeral Home, Harriman in charge of arrangements.
Adolph Joseph (A.J.) Lovin, age 84, of Kingston, passed away Wednesday, December 30. He retired from TVA after serving in the United States Army. Arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced as soon as the information becomes available. Fraker Funeral Home of Kingston is in charge of all the arrangements.
Paul Ray Massengill, age 55, of Rocky Top passed away on December 29. The family will receive friends 4-7PM on Thursday, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Service will follow at 7:00PM with Rev. Jason Lowe and Randy Myers officiating. Graveside services will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Renada Henderson age 57 of Clinton, passed away on Monday, December 28. Renada’s family will have a memorial service at a later date that will be announced by Jones Mortuary.
Dr. Charles “Sonny” Works, age 61, a resident of Kingston, and Pastor of First Baptist Church, Kingston went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at his residence. In addition to serving as Pastor of First Baptist Church in Kingston, he had pastored several churches in Scott, Morgan, and Roane Counties; and served as a Chaplain with the Roane County Sheriff’s Office, the Midway Football Team, the Sunbright Football Team, and the Roane County High School Football Team. Family and Friends will meet on Saturday, at 3:30 p.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood, for Graveside Services with Pastor Jody McCloud officiating. A reception with refreshments will follow from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church in Kingston. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. from the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Alley and Pastor Mark Caldwell officiating. Patricia Lynn Whitson Lawson, age 57 of Oliver Springs went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 26. A Memorial Service will be held at Indian Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, at 1:00 pm for family and close friends. Jackson Funeral Services is honored to serve the Lawson Family.
Jim Kerns, age 68 of Harriman, passed away on Wednesday, December 16. Mr. Kerns was a U.S. Vietnam Army Veteran. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 12:00-1:00 PM from Evans Mortuary. The Funeral Service will follow from the Chapel with Rev. Charles Kelley officiating. Interment and Burial services will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with full military honors by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard and U.S. Army Honors.
