James (Jay) Edward Woods, age 84, died suddenly on August 30, 2026.
He was from Oak Ridge, TN, and a faithful member, teacher and evangelist of the Church of God. He was a 60 year member of the IBEW local union 270 and worked closely with his wife, Donna Powers, in real estate and other business ventures. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Powers. He is survived by his son, Stephen Woods (Paula); grandson, Joshua Woods (Gloria); his great-grandsons, Brady Woods and Damian Woods; and his brother, Chet Woods.
Services to be held on September 9, 2026, at Weatherford Mortuary, 158 South Jefferson Circle, Oak Ridge, TN 37830
Receiving of friends will be from 5pm until 7pm with the service to follow.
Burial will be on Friday, September 11, 2026 in the Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro, TN.
There will be no service at the gravesite.
