Military veterans from across Anderson County are invited to attend the community Veterans Appreciation Breakfast Saturday, September 12, at the Clinton Community Center.
The free monthly gathering will be held at 101 South Hicks Street. The chow line opens at 8:30 a.m., followed by a brief program honoring veterans at 9 a.m.
Alexander Guest House is sponsoring September’s breakfast, while Comfort Keepers is providing the donuts.
This month’s event will also include a free flu shot and vaccine clinic conducted by Kroger. Available vaccines will include standard and high-dose flu shots, COVID-19 vaccines or boosters, pneumonia, shingles, RSV and Tdap vaccines.
No appointment is required. Veterans planning to receive a vaccine are encouraged to bring a photo ID and insurance card.
The monthly breakfast honors local veterans and their families while giving veterans of all ages and military branches an opportunity to fellowship and share stories. Veterans may bring their spouses, relatives or friends.
The City of Clinton serves as a special sponsor by providing the monthly location and assisting with setup. Community donors also provide door prizes.
The next Veterans Breakfast is scheduled for October 10 and will be sponsored by Wisdom Insurance Network.
