Norma Jean Ledford Weisgerber, 86, of Oak Ridge went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on August 12, 2026 after a lengthy illness.
Born on March 6, 1940, in Murphy NC to JD and Lillian Ledford, Jean lived in NC, KY, GA, and SC before settling with her family in Clinton, TN. She attended Clinton High School and graduated from Oliver Springs High.
Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker to her husband and two children. Since the age of 11 years old, when she was baptized during vacation Bible school at Poplar Creek Baptist, she has had a strong and steady faith in Jesus. Jean was a member of Central Baptist Church Oak Ridge for over 40 years where she served as a pre-K Sunday School teacher. As a youth, Jean was in a gospel singing group with her cousins. Her love for hymns and gospel style music brought her joy to the end of her life. In recent years, she became a member of Calvary Baptist Church Oak Ridge. She loved reading her Bible and taught her children from it at an early age.
Jean was an excellent seamstress and made clothing for her children, siblings, and mother. She also enjoyed all kinds of crafts and was a member of the Oak Ridge Women’s Club. Her Christmas tree was always adorned with homemade crocheted snowflakes that were starched to perfection. Jean loved to grow plants, flowers, and vegetables of all kinds. She cherished the wildflowers transplanted from her birthplace in NC. After her two children graduated from school, she was happily employed for over 20 years at the Epicurean, a gourmet food specialty store in Jackson Square, Oak Ridge.
Jean is survived by the one love of her life James David Weisgerber, her husband for 66 years; her daughter Lynn Rose (David), Farragut; Darrell Weisgerber (DeLisa), Oak Ridge; and her three grandchildren Boston Weisgerber (Anastasia), Nashville; Spencer Smith (Logan), Oak Ridge; Ryan Rose, Knoxville; and one great-granddaughter, Adalyn Grace Smith, Oak Ridge. She is also survived by her only sister Brenda Ralston, Clinton; beloved cousin Dean McDonald (Michelle), GA; sister-in-laws Patricia Vickery, Diane Justice, and Pat Ledford, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, JD and Lillian Ledford, brothers Johnny Ledford and Bobby Ledford, and sister-in-law Brenda Ledford.

The family will be holding a visitation at Weatherford Mortuary on Monday, August 17th from 5:00-7:00, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00. The graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Memorial Park the following morning, Tuesday, August 18th at 11:00.
