MEDIC Regional Blood Center is inviting high school students across the region to showcase their creativity through its annual T-shirt design contest.
Students may submit original designs online from August 28 through September 28. The winning design will be featured on one of MEDIC’s blood donor shirts next spring, and the student who creates it will receive a $500 e-gift card.

MEDIC is an independent nonprofit organization and the primary blood product provider for 24 hospitals and air medical transport services across 23 counties. Its partners include Blount Memorial Hospital, Covenant Health, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Tennova Healthcare and the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Blood, platelets and plasma collected by MEDIC support patients in East Tennessee and Southeastern Kentucky. Officials remind the public that donated blood requires at least three days to be processed and prepared for distribution. That means the blood already available when an emergency occurs is what hospitals must rely upon to treat trauma patients.
