Elizabeth Harden Milito, 41, unexpectedly passed away from a stroke on August 18, 2026 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Elizabeth was born in 1984 in Wytheville, VA and moved to Nickelsville, VA as a young child. She graduated from Twin Springs High School, Nickelsville, VA, where she played trumpet in the band, was in the drama club, a member of the track team, and in 2004 she received the VA 4-H All Star Award.
Following high school she attended Mountain Empire Community College in Big Stone Gap, VA and earned a General Studies degree.
Elizabeth was such an empathetic person and she touched everyone with her joy, compassion, and sense of humor. She was talented in music, dance, art, and had the voice of an angel. She was a follower of Jesus and she saw the good in all of God’s creations.
Elizabeth was employed as a Veterinary Assistant at the Oak Ridge Veterinary Hospital in Oak Ridge, TN where she loved the staff members and called them family.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rev. Dale and Etoile Johnson; paternal grandparents, J.R. and Lois Harden; her father Jerry D. Harden; her beloved uncle Joseph Michael Cassell; and special friends, Benny and Nancy Bishop.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Mason Milito; mother, Patricia Johnson; aunt Debbie Cassell Worth (Tom); uncle Chuck Johnson (Becky); cousins Erin DeHart (Kermit), Ben Johnson (Simon), and Regan Johnson; her fur baby Clint, and her work family.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 5th at Weatherford Mortuary of Oak Ridge, TN. Visitation will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with the service to follow at 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent for the family to the Oak Ridge Veterinary Hospital in Oak Ridge, TN.
At a later date a service will be held in Nickelsville, VA.
The family would like to thank the Oak Ridge Veterinary Hospital staff, co-workers and friends of Mason Milito, and the ICU staff of the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, TN.
