Ms. Cynthia Ann Freels Smith, age 76 of Rockwood, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026 with her family by her side. She was born December 16, 1949 to Lee Edgar Freels and Irene Vann Freels in Chattanooga, TN. She was a waitress for a while until her health started declining. From then on, she became mom to everyone she knew and all of her “children”, her cats. Cynthia met her soul mate and married him right after high school and they stayed together until his passing.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She is survived by:
Brother: Steve Alan Freels Sr.
Niece: Irene Freels
Nephew: Steve Alan Freels Jr.
Cremation arrangements have been made and Evans Mortuary is honored to serve the family of Ms. Cynthia Ann Freels Smith.
