Students at Clinton High School have a new space for hands-on engineering, manufacturing and robotics education.
The school has opened its Future Makers Lab following the conversion of a former agriculture shop into an advanced technical-training facility.
The project was completed through a partnership involving 3M and Heart of America.
The laboratory includes three-dimensional printers, robotic work-cell systems, mobile workstations and equipment for computer-aided design and manufacturing instruction.
School officials say the new space will allow students to move from basic design concepts into advanced robotics and mechatronics applications.
The program is intended to help students develop practical skills used by regional manufacturers and technology employers.
