Benjamin “Benny” S Clark, 76

In loving memory of Benjamin “Benny” S Clark, who entered eternal rest at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge on July 30th, 2026. 

Benny was born February 1st 1950, to Glen Alfred Clark and Vera Charlotte Smith Clark in Harriman, Tennessee. 

Benny was an antique enthusiast and loved leaving home early on Saturday mornings, going to yard sales, flea markets, and junk shops looking for the next treasure. He loved spending Saturdays with his wife Vickie and son Matthew out running the roads until late at night, and loved going out of state, especially Kentucky, Virginia, and Georgia, looking for antiques. Thanks to Benny, the Clark house became a museum. Benny was an employee of Methodist Medical Center for 36 years, starting in April 1990. He was a longtime member of Victory Temple Church in Lenoir City, Tennessee. Benny was of Irish descent, a fact he was very proud of. 

Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Alfred Clark, who passed August 2, 1996, and his mother, Vera Charlotte Smith Clark, on November 26, 1972. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Sylvester “Putt” Clark; beloved aunt, Elsie Clark Wyrick; sister Susie Bartlett; mother-in-law Mary Ethel Vann; father-in-law Reverend Freddie Vann; and sisters-in-law, Ellamae Lowe and Jewel Sledge. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Clark Cox. 

Benny is survived by his beloved wife of almost 44 years, Vickie Vann Clark. Benny met Vickie at church, where her father, preacher Vann, was holding a revival; they dated two days and then married on August 20th 1982. Benny is also survived by his “little boy,” Matthew Aaron Clark; his feline son, Jett; daughter Tonya Cinnamon Tackett, sister Glenna Elizabeth Jones (George), brother Vernon “Rickey” Clark (Dorothy); sisters-in-law Deanna Russell (Tim), Ramona Turpin, and Wanda Vann; brothers-in-law Darrell Vann (sissy), Nathan Vann (Teresa), and Allen Vann. He is also survived by his very good friend Lloyd Graves, who helped so much during his illness.

The family will hold a receiving of friends on Monday, August 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00 and a funeral at 7:00 in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with Prophet Woody Martin officiating. Benny will be laid to rest on Tuesday, August 4th at 10:00 AM at the Historic Robertsville Cemetery in Oak Ridge, where his earthly remains will await the resurrection day.
