
Clinton, TN – Anderson County Mayor Terry Frank has announced an opening for a county representative to serve on the Mountain Valley Economic Opportunity Authority.
The nonprofit authority works with the East Tennessee Human Resource Agency to administer Community Services Block Grant programs addressing employment, housing, nutrition and emergency crisis intervention.
Applicants must reside in Anderson County and have an interest in helping alleviate poverty. The representative must also belong to a private-sector organization associated with business, industry, labor, religion, private welfare, private education, civic or professional groups, minority organizations or other community interests.
The organization represented cannot perform official governmental functions or receive tax dollars to cover its operating expenses.
The Mountain Valley Economic Opportunity Authority includes public officials, private-sector representatives and representatives of low-income communities from Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Morgan, Scott and Union counties.
