Rockwood Fire Department to Conduct Annual Fire Hydrant Testing

The Rockwood Fire Department will be conducting its annual testing and flowing of fire hydrants over the next couple of months.

During this time, residents may notice water that appears slightly cloudy or dirty. If this happens, simply allow the water to run for a few minutes until it clears.

Anyone needing to do laundry and concerned about water discoloration may want to wait until the evening hours, as hydrant testing in residential areas will take place during the daytime.

Motorists are also asked to slow down and use caution when driving near areas where Rockwood Fire Department personnel are working.

The department appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as this important annual testing is completed.
