Oliver Springs standout Cooper Jones officially signed to continue his football career at Sewanee Tigers on Tuesday, surrounded by family, teammates, coaches, and classmates inside the Oliver Springs gymnasium.
Jones, who played linebacker and tight end for the Bobcats, will continue his academic and athletic career at Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. The Tigers compete at the NCAA Division III level in the Southern Athletic Association.
The signing ceremony featured several Oliver Springs teammates along with family members, standing behind Jones as he made his commitment official.
Sewanee has a long football tradition dating back to the 1800s and remains one of the South’s historic college football programs.
Jones becomes the latest Bobcat athlete to advance to the collegiate level, representing Oliver Springs football at the next stage of his career.
