Howard Patrie Jones III, age 74 of Clinton, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home.
Howard’s unwavering dedication to his country began with his proud service in the United States Air Force, a commitment that shaped his character and values throughout his life. His patriotic spirit never wavered—it became the foundation for everything he pursued. For many years, Howard shared his expertise and passion by instructing individuals in firearm safety and personal defense. As a long-term firearms instructor in South Carolina, he taught Concealed Weapon Permit classes and Individual Personal Defense courses. As a longtime ranking member of The Oath Keepers, Howard stood firm in his principles and beliefs
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Jones II, and mother, Nellie Jones. Survivors include his son and daughter; brothers, David Jones and Michael Jones; caregiver, Wade Dagley.
He will be laid to rest with full military honors at 10:00 am on Monday, May 11, 2026, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, located at 2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
