ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. — Emergency crews were kept busy across the county Wednesday evening, responding to multiple incidents.
Just after 5:30 p.m., fire crews, law enforcement, sheriff’s deputies, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Interstate 40 eastbound near the Buttermilk Road exit. Two people were taken to the hospital following that crash.
About an hour and a half later, around 7 p.m., first responders were called to Los Primos Mexican Restaurant in South Harriman for a medical emergency. Authorities say one person required CPR at the scene. Harriman Fire Department, Harriman Police, and EMS responded, and the patient was transported to Roane Medical Center, where a Lifestar helicopter was waiting to airlift the individual to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The person’s condition is unknown at this time.
Later, around 9 p.m., another crash involving two vehicles occurred on Interstate 40 eastbound near the 346-mile marker. Several emergency units responded, resulting in lane restrictions. Officials reported only minor injuries in that crash.
Earlier in the day, around 10:30 a.m., crews also responded to an accident in the 3800 block of Highway 58 south of Kingston. No additional details have been released on that incident.
