Robert “Bobby” Payne Promoted to Captain at Oak Ridge Fire Department

OAK RIDGE — The Oak Ridge Fire Department is recognizing Robert “Bobby” Payne following his recent promotion to the rank of Fire Captain.

Payne has served with the department since 2011 and has played an active role in training efforts and day-to-day operations. Throughout his career, he has earned multiple commendations for his performance, including the department’s Life Saving Medal.

In addition to his duties in the field, Payne has contributed behind the scenes by serving on several departmental committees, including those focused on apparatus purchasing and fire service initiatives.

Department leaders say the promotion reflects Payne’s commitment, experience, and continued dedication to serving the Oak Ridge community.
