KINGSTON — The Roane County Board of Education is scheduled to meet Thursday evening, April 23, at 7:00 p.m.
The meeting will be held at the district’s main office building at the corner of Bluff Road and Highway 70 in Kingston.
Board members will begin by reviewing and approving previous meeting minutes and financial reports. The agenda also includes time for public comment, along with recognitions and presentations.
Officials will then hear reports from the Director of Schools, business manager, facilities department, board committees, and the chairman.
Under old business, the board is expected to consider a contract extension for Director of Schools Russell Jenkins.
Several items are listed under new business, including:
- Approval of May 5 as an in-service day due to the primary election
- Approval of tenure recommendations
- Surplus of technology and non-technology equipment
- A proposed budget amendment
