KINGSTON — A planned power outage will impact parts of the Kingston area early Tuesday morning as crews perform critical maintenance on the electrical system.
According to Rockwood Electric Utility and TVA, the outage is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, from 12:00 a.m. until 3:00 a.m.
The temporary interruption is necessary to transfer electrical load to a mobile transformer, allowing crews to conduct testing, inspections, and maintenance on a primary transformer.
Residents who were affected by previous outages in the Kingston area should expect to be impacted again during this scheduled work.
Utility officials say the project is essential to maintaining long-term reliability of the power grid. However, the outage is weather-dependent. If conditions prevent crews from completing the work, it will be rescheduled for the next available date.
