Mary Thomas, age 82 of Oliver Springs, TN, passed away peacefully at her home. She loved flowers and was a homemaker and loved caring for her family, Mary was also a great cook.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband’s Ray Richard, and Calvin Thomas; parents, Alonza and Nellie Harness; sisters Maggie, Margaret, Georgiana; brothers Kelly and Robert; infant sister Oda Mae Harness; infant brothers Leslie and Isaac Harness; son Daryl Richard; daughter Bonita Sage and her children Richard and Gregory Sage.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie Holt and husband Lee; adopted daughter Melissa Garcia and fiancé Calvin Knight; grandchildren Alex and Reanna Richard and Andrew Richard; sister Martha “Marty” Ellis; close friends Earl and Louise Crowder; several great-grandchildren and other family who will cherish her memory.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Jackson Funeral Home and Cremation in Oliver Springs, TN, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a funeral service to follow in the chapel.
Graveside service will be on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 1:00 pm in Browns Flatt Cemetery in Briceville.
