City of Oak Ridge Accepting Applications for Vacancies on Four Boards and Commissions

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (April 28, 2026) – The City of Oak Ridge has opened applications for
residents interested in serving on four city boards.

There are currently vacancies on the following boards and commissions:

• Board of Zoning Appeals – 1 vacancy (Balance of an unexpired term ending on
  December 31, 2028)
• Convention and Visitors’ Bureau/Explore Oak Ridge Board of Directors – 2 vacancies
  (Balance of an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2027, and a balance of an
  unexpired term ending on December 31, 2028)
• Disability Advisory Board – 1 vacancy (Balance of an unexpired term ending on
  December 31, 2027; preference may be given to individuals who are knowledgeable,
  experienced, or familiar with disability issues)
• Environmental Quality Advisory Board – 2 vacancies (Balance of an unexpired term
  ending on December 31, 2027, and a balance of an unexpired term ending on December
  31, 2028)

Oak Ridge residency is required for appointments to a city board or commission unless
otherwise specified in City code. Members serve without compensation.

Individuals interested in serving on one of the above city boards and/or commissions must
submit a completed application online or via paper to the City Clerk’s Office in the Municipal
Building by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Applications can be completed online on the City’s website at oakridgetn.gov/elections.

All city boards and commissions are authorized by the Oak Ridge City Council, which will
appoint members to these boards and commissions during its regular meeting on Monday,
June 8, 2026.
