Arthur “Junior” Burris, 73

Arthur “Junior” Burris, age 73, passed away on April 5, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. A lifelong resident of the area, he was born in Lake City and made his home in Clinton.

Junior was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Libby Burris; his daughter, Nichole Brooks and husband Allen of Oak Ridge; his cherished grandchildren, Lindsay (Eric) Kennedy, Makinley (Derek) Partington, Kayden King, Amber (Michael) Hatfield, Autumn (Austin) Dunn, Zach (Taylor) Brooks. Sister-in-law Rena (Anthony) Barnett, Brother-in-law Edward Goins, and his special friend, Eddie King.

He is also survived by his siblings, Nancy (Bobby) Andrews of Lake City and Donnie Burris of Nashville; Nephew Jimmy (Cindy) Burris and daughters of Lake City, Natalie (Dustin) Shorter of Nashville.

Junior is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Blanche Burris; siblings Virgil Burris, Patricia Burris, and Jimmy Burris; his niece Katelynn Burris; and his grandparents Otis and Bessie Burris, and Arthur and Gladys Neer.

Junior enjoyed camping, traveling, hunting, and spending time with horses. He will be remembered for his love of family and the special bond he shared with those closest to him. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.

Family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Jackson Funeral Home and Cremation in Oliver Springs from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a funeral service to follow in the chapel.
