CLINTON, Tenn. – Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening at a Clinton motel.
According to the Clinton Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:27 p.m. on March 15 to the Super 8 Motel at 720 Park Place after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency crews from Anderson County EMS and the Clinton Fire Department provided medical treatment at the scene.
The victim was later airlifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment. His condition has not been released at this time.
Police say the suspect remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident by responding officers.
The Clinton Police Department is continuing its investigation to determine what led to the shooting. Additional information is expected to be released as the investigation develops.
