Lewis Phillips, age 87, of Deer Lodge, passed away on March 23, 2026, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Norma Faye; son Eric; grandson Kendall (Savannah); great-grandson Nolan, and great-granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Lu Bullard (Bill); one niece; eight nephews, and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mable Phillips; siblings Geneva Phillips, Mary Meyers (Quteen), Charles (Junie) Phillips, and nephew Jack Meyers. Also preceding him are father and mother-in-law Sam and Marjorie Brown; brother-in-law Wayne (Betty) Brown.
A graduate of Sunbright High School, Lewis retired from Highland Telephone with 41 years’ service. He loved reminiscing about his many years of employment, and the time spent with his fellow employees.
Lewis was special in his love for his family, friends, and neighbors. He was a member of Chestnut Ridge Community Chapel.
A great outdoorsman, and loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and working around the house. He enjoyed traveling and was blessed to have visited all but five states.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Schubert Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Bro. Wayne Matthews officiating. Graveside services will be on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Deer Lodge.
