Oak Ridge, TN — Jawrell Cook, United States Army veteran, business owner, and longtime community leader, has announced his candidacy for Anderson County Commission, District Eight, in the May 5, 2026 Republican Primary.
A proud graduate of Oak Ridge High School and the University of Tennessee, where he earned a degree in Business Administration, Cook has built a career centered on service, leadership, and results.
Cook served more than two decades in the United States Army and Army Reserves, leading with integrity and discipline while defending the freedoms and values he holds dear. He is the founder of Cook’s Comfort Systems, Inc., a trusted local business that served families and businesses throughout the region for over three decades.
“As a Republican, I believe in fiscal responsibility, efficient government, strong public safety, and standing up for the values that make Anderson County a great place to live,” Cook said. “District Eight deserves experienced, principled leadership that will put Oak Ridge taxpayers first and ensure our county government operates efficiently and transparently.”
Cook has consistently shown a deep dedication to the Oak Ridge community. He has contributed his leadership on the Boys & Girls Club of Oak Ridge Board of Directors, served as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), and participated as a member of Oak Ridge’s Trade and Licensing Board. He also serves on the board of Oak Ridge Memorial Park. For 15 years, he has further invested in the community by coaching youth sports, mentoring young athletes and helping shape future leaders.
“As a business owner, I recognize the importance of responsible budgeting and advocating for policies that encourage growth throughout our county,” Cook said. “As a father and grandfather, I’m dedicated to keeping our community safe, backing our law enforcement officers, and making choices that create stronger opportunities for future generations.”
Cook and his wife, Michelle, have six children and are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren.
