Charles Edward Bane, Rockwood

Mr. Charles Edward Bane, age 77, a resident of Rockwood, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville, Tennessee, after a long, hard-fought, and brave battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. “Charles Ed” as he was affectionately known by some family and friends was born August 21, 1948, in Rockwood, Tennessee. He was a member of the Knoxville First Church of the Nazarene. Charles was a retired Engineer with the Tennessee Valley Authority, and after retirement was an Insurance Agent with multiple insurance agencies, including Modern Woodman of America. His life was marked by volunteering and active service to his community including serving as Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop # 108 in Rockwood, helping with many charitable and community projects, and assisting many people as an expert genealogist discover their family’s story, locate family members and make connections, and to honor and remember their loved ones through his work with Find A Grave. Known to his family as a “Mr. Fix-It” because of his vast knowledge and skills, he as always willing to share that knowledge and skills with others, whether it be by fixing and mechanical or D.I.Y. project, passing along those knowledge and skills to his children, mentoring Boy Scouts and other youth, sharing his knowledge of Biblical History, or serving as a Teacher and Substitute Teacher in several area Middle and High Schools in Tennessee and Florida. Charles enjoyed Genealogy, Camping, Hiking, History, Biblical History, and Gardening, which was a passion that he learned and shared with his father. He will be remembered with a smile for knowing all of the words to the Hymns without looking at the book; his enjoyment of British comedies and the Andy Griffith show, often quoting lines and laughing at well-known scenes; and by locals for riding his bicycle 21 miles every day. Most of all Chares was a Devoted and Loving Husband, and a Loving and Proud Father and Grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond “Pud” & Lorita Bane.

And a host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, other Relatives, and Friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Jim Blackburn and Rev. Duane Allison officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood, Tennessee. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, Tennessee, is honored to serve the family of Mr. Charles Edward Bane.
