First Woman to Serve as Commission Chair Seeks Continued Leadership

Clinton, TN (Submitted) — Denise Palmer today announced her campaign for re-election to the Anderson County Commission representing District Two. Palmer pledged to continue her proactive leadership, strong fiscal stewardship, and service-first approach for the constituents of District Two.
Palmer made history by becoming the first female Chair of the Anderson County Commission, a milestone that reflects her commitment to leadership, collaboration, and positive results for all county residents.
“It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of District Two,” Palmer said. “From maintaining fiscal responsibility to strengthening public safety and supporting infrastructure growth, we’ve accomplished a great deal. I’m excited to seek re-election in the Republican primary on May 5, 2026, so we can continue this important work together.”
During her tenure on the Commission, Palmer has demonstrated a commitment to transparent government, teamwork, and pragmatic solutions that reflect the values and priorities of Anderson County residents. As the Commission’s Chair, she has fostered an environment of respectful dialogue and effective decision-making while advancing initiatives that prioritize the county’s long-term success.
With nearly all District Two voters living within the Clinton city limits, Palmer stays closely connected to the neighborhoods she represents. She works hand-in-hand with Clinton City leadership to make sure everyday concerns — from safer streets and well-maintained roads to supporting local schools and small businesses — are addressed through strong city-county cooperation. By listening to residents and maintaining open lines of communication with local leaders, Palmer ensures that the priorities of Clinton’s neighborhoods are front and center in county decision-making.
The Republican primary election will be held on May 5, 2026. Voters in District Two will be able to cast their ballots in the primary to determine the party’s nominee for County Commission.
