MEDIC Regional Blood Center Offering Dollywood Tickets for Donors July 21–25

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — MEDIC Regional Blood Center is teaming up with Dollywood to reward lifesaving donors this summer. From July 21st through July 25th, donors who make a successful blood donation at any MEDIC donor center or mobile drive will receive a free Dollywood ticket as a thank-you for their generosity.

Appointments are required for this special promotion due to anticipated high demand. Walk-ins will not be accepted during this period, and donors are encouraged to schedule in advance through www.medicblood.org, the MEDIC app, or by calling 865-521-2656.

This limited-time event is only available to those who complete a successful donation. Deferred donors will not receive a Dollywood ticket but will be offered a coupon for Papa John’s Pizza as a thank-you.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to help save lives while enjoying a day at one of Tennessee’s most beloved attractions,” said MEDIC officials. “Blood donated during this event supports 25 hospitals across 23 counties in East Tennessee and Southeastern Kentucky.”

MEDIC is the primary blood product provider for major medical facilities in the region, including UT Medical Center, Blount Memorial, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Tennova Healthcare, and the Covenant Health System.

Officials stress the importance of maintaining a steady blood supply, especially during the summer months when donations often dip. Blood, platelets, and plasma products currently on the shelves are critical in the event of an emergency, and it takes at least three days for new donations to be tested and processed for use.

As a nonprofit and independent organization, MEDIC ensures that all donations stay local. Products collected by other blood agencies may be sent to hospitals outside the region.
