County Veterans Invited to Community Breakfast Sat. June 14th; also Flag Day

Gwen Cole, President of Clinch River Quilts of Valor, awarded Tennessee Commissioner of Veterans Services Tommy H. Baker a “Quilt of Valor” in recognition of his service.  General Baker retired from the Tennessee National Guard with 41 years of services prior to his role as Commissioner and was the special guest speaker at the May 10th Breakfast.

CLINTON—Military veterans from Anderson County are once again invited to come together for a community Veterans Breakfast to honor veterans. 

The breakfast, hosted by Anderson County citizens, is sponsored this month by Ray Varner Ford. 

The breakfast will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Clinton Community Center, 101 S. Hicks Street, Clinton.  The “Chow line” opens at 8:30 a.m. and there will be a brief program at 9 a.m. honoring veterans, in addition to recognizing Flag Day. 

All the Veterans Breakfasts will recognize and honor local veterans and their families for their service to the United States.

Anderson County residents and community volunteers are working together to make the breakfast a free monthly event that will allow veterans of all ages and branches to fellowship and share stories together.  Veterans are welcome to bring spouses, family, or friends with them.  The City of Clinton is recognized as a special sponsor for hosting the monthly location and set up.  Local media is especially recognized for their role in letting veterans know about the breakfast each month. 

Many generous donors are also recognized for providing regular monthly door prizes.  Wendy Maness is June’s Donut Sponsor.

The July 12, 2025 breakfast is sponsored by Clinch River Home Healthcare; August 9, 2025 is sponsored by CNS Cares; September 13, 2025 is sponsored by American Legion Post 172; October 11, 2025 is sponsored by Humana with Rebecca Watts and Julie Michel; and November 8, 2025 is sponsored by Friends of U.S. Military Families, Inc. along with Roger & Judy Kelly.

About Brad Jones

BBB Communications Owner/Operator Brad Jones has been part of the company since August 1996. A graduate of Coalfield High School in 1987, Brad later earned his degree from the University of Tennessee College of Communications in 1995, where he was honored with the 1995 Broadcast Production Student of the Year Award. Brad began his broadcasting career while still attending college, working at Shop at Home, Inc. from 1993 to 1995. He later worked at Via TV (RSTV, Inc.) from 1995 to 1996 before doing freelance production work in Nashville. In August 1996, he joined the staff at BBB Communications, where he has remained ever since. In 2001, Brad also spent a short time working as a news photographer for WVLT-TV while continuing his role at BBB TV. In addition to his work in local broadcasting, Brad also works part-time at Jewelry Television and works with Packman Productions on “Rivalry Thursday” during football season. Brad is married to Nicole Jenkins Jones, a 1990 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. Nicole works at Oak Ridge Gastroenterology Associates. Together they have three children: Trevor Bogard, Chandler Jones, and Naomi Jones, along with three grandchildren: Carter Bogard, Lucas Hayward, and Adalynn Reece Bogard.
