OrthoTennessee’s vast network aligns as Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic

One Name, One Team, One Purpose

OrthoTennessee, East Tennessee’s largest network of orthopaedic care and services, is aligning under one name: Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic (KOC).

Since 1998, the physicians of KOC, University Orthopaedic Surgeons, OrthoTennessee Maryville and KOC Oak Ridge have been one organization. Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, the extensive group of connected doctors, therapists, clinics and diagnostic centers will unite under one name.

The shift will make it easier for patients to identify the network of services dedicated to their care and enhance overall patient experience.

“For a long time, we have been one organization,” KOC Board Chair Dr. J. Jay Crawford said.  “Now, we will be one team with one name dedicated to one purpose: improving lives through patient-centered care – every patient, every time.”

As the group unites under the KOC name, some organizational structures and processes will evolve, but no positions will be lost due to the transition. Patient care, costs and providers also will not change with the alignment.

“Patients can still expect to see the same provider and experience the same competent and compassionate treatment,” Crawford said. “There will be no change to out-of-pocket costs or insurance – our network remains the same for insurance filing purposes.”

What is changing?

Location names and signage will align so that patients will see the same KOC logo at a clinic site, therapy location, MRI suite or on the sidelines of a football game.
