Ms. Edna Mae McCarroll, age 99, passed away peacefully at her home on September 5, 2024. She was born on April 5, 1925. Edna worked at Roane Horsey, The Harriman Record, and in 1969 she was the 1st female Police Officer to be hired in Roane County working for the Harriman Police Department.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Kelso McCarroll.
Son: Jerry “Pete” McCarroll
Mother: Maude Plemons.
Two brothers: James Plemons and Johnny “Sambo” Plemons
Three sisters: Eva Branson, Irene Davis, and Vera “Billie” Meadows.
She is survived by her three sons: Doug & wife Betty McCarroll, James “Joe” McCarroll, and Richard McCarroll.
daughter-in-law: Erma McCarroll.
And several grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchild.
And a host of nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Adoration Hospice for all the special care that was given.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Bro. Mike Winters and Bro. Howard Hulling officiating. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood.
