Tammy Elizabeth Cook, age 60 of Athens, formerly of Rockwood, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born on October 9, 1963, in Rockwood. She was a huge Tennessee Volunteer football fan. She enjoyed fishing with her sons, riding around, and occasionally a little gambling.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Jefferson Stanley Young & Mary Sue Easter Young; sister: Katie Wright; and her ex-husband: Daniel Eugene Cook; as well as many extended family members.
She is survived by:
Sons: Travis Daniel Cook & Billy “Judd” Cook
Siblings: Lisa McConkey (Doug), Connie Edmonds (Tommy), and Jeff Young (Joanne)
Special Friend: Doris Mynatt
and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm ET, with Doris Mynatt officiating. Graveside and interment service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 10:00 am ET in the Millstone Mountain Cemetery in the Millstone community of Cumberland County. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Tammy Elizabeth Cook.
