Oak Ridge, TN – Michael Wayne Smith, a beloved Christian singer and songwriter from Oak Ridge, will perform at Calvary Baptist Church, 163 N. Jefferson Circle, on Sunday, August 18th at 6 p.m. The concert is free to attend, with a love offering collected during the event.
Smith, who has been traveling in ministry with his family since 2009, is known for his powerful Southern and country gospel music. He first gained widespread recognition with his hit song “My Home” and his debut album Welcome Home, which included the popular single “Everything’s Fine.” Over the past 14 years, Smith has released 10 studio albums, 18 radio singles, and a live concert DVD, with two new projects currently underway.
His music, rooted in Southern gospel but also encompassing praise, worship, and traditional hymns, continues to inspire and uplift audiences. Notable recent releases include his Christmas album Peace On Earth and the encouraging album Faithful. His latest single, “My God Can Do Anything,” offers a message of hope and faith during challenging times.
Smith, a member of Big Emory Baptist Church in Harriman, TN, has been married to Kelley for 31 years and is the father of two daughters. He and his family invite the Oak Ridge community to join them for an evening of heartfelt music and worship.
