Marilyn J. Milton, aged 89, of Oak Ridge, passed away on August 5, 2024.
She was a loving wife, mother, and friend and is greatly missed.
She graduated from the Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and was a long-time employee of the Anderson County School System. She was also a member of Robertsville Baptist Church.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Nola Reed; son Bryan Smitherman and stepson Dale Milton.
She is survived by her husband, H.T. Milton; son Anthony (Karen) Smitherman, stepdaughter, Judy Norman; grandchildren Seth (Andrea) Norman and Jason Norman; great-grandchildren Laurel and Olivia Norman. She enjoyed attending musical and theatrical performances and local events with long-time friend, Amy Tucker.
We would like to express special thanks to the staff at The Courtyards Assisted Living facility as well as the team with Shalom Hospice for the care they provided for her. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Robertsville Baptist Church, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
