Larry Arvil Underdown, age 86, went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2024.
Larry was born and grew up in Athens, Tennessee. He moved to Oak Ridge at the age of 18, and worked his adult life at the Y-12 nuclear plant. Larry served locally with the National Guard and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 40 years.
Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ruby Underdown, his wife Priscilla J. Underdown, and sister Sandra Melton.
Larry is survived by son Kevin Underdown; daughter Cheryl Underdown Myers; granddaughters Leah Myers and Rachel Myers; grandson Brandon Wallace; great-grandson John W. Hurn; sisters Robyn Underdown and Wanoka Underdown-Ballew; and brother Dennis Underdown.
The family will hold a visitation for Larry Arvil Underdown on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at Weatherford Mortuary Chapel with the funeral service immediately following at 1:30. Reverand Steve McDonald will officiate. Burial will be at 3:00 pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations be made to the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter or Tiger Haven in Kingston. Tenn.
