Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Secures $15,000 Grant from Norfolk Southern

Clinton, Tennessee – The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has received a $15,000 grant from Norfolk Southern Corporation, aimed at enhancing its Criminal Investigation Digital Forensic Operations. This funding will support the Sheriff’s Office in its mission to serve and protect the residents of Anderson County.

The grant is part of Norfolk Southern’s community initiatives launched in 2023, including the Safety First Grant Program, which focuses on advancing safety initiatives, and the Thriving Communities Grant Program, designed to promote economic opportunity, vibrant community life, and equal access to basic needs. Each year, recipients are chosen from across the 22 states served by Norfolk Southern.

“This grant will significantly bolster our efforts at the Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Russell Barker. “We are grateful to Norfolk Southern for their commitment to our community and their support of our mission. This funding will provide our Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Investigators with valuable equipment, directly benefiting the citizens of Anderson County.”

Sgt. Don Scuglia, CID Supervisor, also expressed appreciation, stating, “We are deeply thankful to Norfolk Southern for approving this much-needed grant.”
