Mrs. Barbara Fay Pelfrey Rucker, age 90 of Rockwood, passed away on Sunday, July 7th, 2024, in Spring City. She was born on February 24, 1934, in Rockwood. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She worked for several years as a sewing machine operator and loved it, but most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them. She had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her yard on her flowers. She was a huge country music fan and loved Merle Haggard. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Martin Fletcher Pelfrey & Amanda Page Pelfrey; Husband: Jon William “Bill” Rucker; Sons: Joseph Harold Rucker, and Harley Russel Rucker; Grandson: John Wesley Rucker; Granddaughter: Carley Diana Rucker; Great Grandson: Skyler Dean Rucker.
She is survived by:
Daughter: Cynthia Ann Golliher
Son: Charles Rucker (April)
Grandchildren: Nora Faye Rucker, Adam Rucker
Great Grandchildren: Hakiem, Kaydien, and Soriah
Brother: Randy Pelfrey
and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow with Bro. Bud Strader is officiating. Graveside and interment service will follow in the Glen Alice Cemetery in Rockwood. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Barbara Fay Pelfrey Rucker.
