Jackson “Jack” Davis, 92

Jackson “Jack” Davis, 92, passed away on February 13, 2024.

He is survived by daughters Cindy (Jimbo) Bunker and Susan (Joey) Williams; grandchildren Lindsey Hicks, Jackson, and Edye-Ann Williams; great-grandchildren Lauren Hicks and Davis Stephens; sister Gayle Gray and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Jump Davis; grandson Aaron Hicks; parents Alva Lay and Edith Jackson Davis; sister Billie (Tommy) Woods; brothers Clayton (Mona), Alvin, Calvin (Bobbie), and brother-in-law Doug Gray.

Jack had fond memories of growing up in Coalfield among family and friends, graduating in 1949. He served in the army and later completed trade school to become an electrician. After which, he moved his family to Cincinnati to take a job at General Electric. Thrilled with the idea of moving back home, he worked until retirement at Y-12 amongst many treasured friends. Jack loved his Lord, and as a deacon at Mossy Grove Baptist Church, served his community with joy and faithfulness. His family was the center of his life, and they will forever cherish the memory of all goodbyes ending with “I love you.”

The family will receive friends Friday, February 16 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Mossy Grove Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Disney officiating. Graveside services will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Estes Cemetery in Coalfield. In lieu, of flowers, you may make contributions to Mossy Grove Baptist Church: Mission Fund. Heartfelt thank you to special friends Robert Weatherford, Becky Davis Sisco, and Dr. Dwight Willett, devoted employees of Fresenius Kidney Care of Roane County, Life Care Center of Morgan County, and Quality Private Duty Care.
