Rockwood Council meets in special called session Tuesday to pass official tax rate and hire 2 police officers

Rockwood City Council members met in special called session Tuesday to pass the official tax rate on second and final reading. The rate is set at 92 cents for the next fiscal year. The council also, following the recommendations from the police committee and police Chief Bill Stinnett, hired 2 police officers as the city has been short a couple for some time. Officers Courtney White and Jonathan Harris were given the nod to start as Rockwood Police officers. Harris comes from Wartburg City and is now on the job today and Courtney White comes from the Crossville Police Department and is to report for work next week in Rockwood.
