Oliver Springs Town Council approves tentatively the purchase of a fire truck

Justin Bailey, Oliver Springs Fire Chief

Oliver Springs may have a new fire apparatus soon. Fire Chief Justin Bailey told members of the council during last nights regular city council meeting, that he has located a pumper truck in Pennsylvania and will be heading up there this weekend to look it over and test it out. The new truck a 2000 model currently serves the town of New Holland, Pennsylvania and has been offered for sale to a smaller city with a great bargain price. Bailey told council that he can get the truck for just over $75,000 and it normally would be sold for at least $125,000 anywhere else. The city’s aging fire truck fleet needs upgraded and the council placed in their budget this year some extra funds to help match grant funding for a newer fire truck.

Back in June there was discussion about the truck, and what it should have or not have on it. Stipulations asked for by Oliver Springs City Council member, Robert Miller.
