Hugo K. Hughes, age 84, of Clinton passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2020.
Hugo is preceded in death by parents, John and Effie Hughes; sisters, Louise Gray, Johnny Ruth Blankenship, and Anne Jenkins; brothers, Bill and Dawson Hughes. He is survived by brothers, Charles and Jimmy Hughes; wife of 66 years Patricia; sons, Hugo Jr. (Joan) and James Allan (Pam); grandchildren, Jimmy and Luke Hughes; Katy Cross (Zach), and Joe Hughes; three great grandchildren, Solomon Hughes, Heidi Jo Cross and Holly Cross.
Hugo was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Knoxville. He retired from Martin Marietta. After retirement he enjoyed his farming days in Clinton. Later in life he and his wife moved to the city of Clinton. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and garden. He was an avid member of Cardiac Therapy group in Oak Ridge and had many friends there.
He will be missed by family and friends
A memorial service will be held for Hugo at Broadway Baptist in Knoxville at a later date. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. holleygamble.com
