A Rocky Top woman was arrested on numerous charges after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that 26-year-old Hayley Brown of Rocky Top had been driving a 1999 Toyota Camry on Long Hollow Road at around 1:45 pm Wednesday when she crossed over the center line and into the path of a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Amy Jeffers of Clinton.
Jeffers swerved to avoid a collision, but Brown’s car sideswiped the pickup truck before coming to rest in a ditch off the side of the road. There was a one-year-old child in Brown’s car that the the THP did say was properly buckled up in a child restraint device. Brown, who remains in custody at the Anderson County Jail, was charged with DUI, possession of schedule IV and V drugs and drug paraphernalia, child endangerment, failure to maintain due care, no proof of insurance and driving on a suspended license. No one was hurt in the accident.
