Wednesday, the LaFollette Police Department identified the officers involved in an incident that left a 28-year-old woman dead on Monday morning.
Lianna London was shot and killed by officers responding to a call of a woman trying to break into a home on East Prospect Street after she refused several commands to drop the pistol she was carrying. She died at the LaFollette Medical Center from her injuries, and the TBI released her name on Tuesday after notifying relatives.
In an media release issued Wednesday, the LPD identified the officers involved in the shooting as Noah Riggs–a 5-year veteran of the force–and Shane Tielman, who has been an officer in laFollette since July of last year. Both of them were placed on paid administrative leave, as is standard procedure in an officer-involved shooting, and a third officer who was at the scene but did not fire at London, identified as two-year LPD veteran Aaron Adkins, was also placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
